Cardington House HotelTerms and Conditions for Events1. Booking your Event To secure your booking, you should confirm the written quotation (provided either by email or letter) by paying a deposit of 20% of the total quoted cost, minimum deposit £3000. In the event of cancellation deposits are only refunded as follows: By written notice 6 or more months prior to your arrival - 50% Management may transfer deposits at their discretion. Any special requests regarding bookings need to be submitted prior to confirmation and, although they cannot be guaranteed, we will do our best to accommodate all guests' requirements. Other accommodation requests are dependent upon availability. 2. Changes to a confirmed Event Booking Changes to a confirmed event booking are subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed. 3. Cancellations or alterations made by Management In the unlikely event that management have to alter your event booking, all amendments will be confirmed in writing at the earliest possible date. In the event of cancellation by management full refunds will be made. 4. Cancellations made by the Guest In the event of a cancellation by the guest 7 days or less prior to the event booking ('event booking' being the date of arrival), 100% of the total cost including food and drink will have to be paid by the guest within 7 days of the cancellation. 5. Your Responsibilities All guests are requested to provide proof of identity upon arrival and payment is expected in full upon departure. All clients are liable for any damage caused to the premises through accident or neglect (externally or internally) by the guests and/or by those occupying the premises at any time as a result of the guests' booking. Those occupying the premises include residents and non-residents of Cardington House. Any damage caused will be charged for on departure, or as soon as practicable thereafter. We suggest that all clients holding events at Cardington House take out their own insurance for any damage their guests may cause and are advised to contact: Tim Wiseman ACII 6. Accommodation/Event Information Guests are able to check in to the premises from 2:00pm on the day of arrival. Guests must check out by 11am on the day of departure. Breakfast is served from 8:00am to 10:00am. The dress code for all guests is a minimal of smart-casual. No trainers. 7. Health and Safety For health and safety reasons the kitchen or food preparation areas are not to be used by residents or non-residents at anytime. Whilst Cardington House takes every precaution to protect its residents it does not accept any responsibility whatsoever for any accident or mishap which may occur from any cause whilst, residents, their family, friends or guests are using the Cardington House facilities. The supervision of any children, particularly around the pool area and the steps to the beach must be the responsibility of their parent, guardian or a responsible person. The supervision of children will not be the responsibility of Cardington House. Under the Tourism (Liability of Proprietors of Registered Premises) (Jersey) Law 1964, the proprietor of Cardington House may, in certain circumstances, be liable to make good any loss of or damage to a guest's property, even though it was not due to any fault of the proprietor or his staff. This liability however-
This notice does not constitute an admission either that the Law applies to Cardington House or that liability hereunder attaches to the proprietor in any particular case. Guests may use the Cardington House swimming pool and hot tub until 10:00pm. The Manager reserves the right to close the swimming pool and hot tub at anytime if he deems reason to do so. No glass is permitted in or around the pool or hot tub at anytime. The management has the right to remove any guest(s) guilty of nuisance or misconduct. 8. Entertainment It must be acknowledged that by law all entertainment outside of the building must cease at 11pm and that all guests must move inside the building. All non-residents must leave the premises by 1:00am. All entertainment inside the building must end by 1:00am. All audiovisual equipment owned by Cardington House is not to be tampered with, other than the use of the remote controls provided. In the event of any malfunction, residents or non-residents must report this to the management. Music restrictions: The only music permitted in the marquee is light/background music (no amplified bands etc). Cardington House and its authorised staff reserve the right to moderate the level of music generated in the marquee. A DJ is permitted to play in the Chandelier room until 1am. Cardington House and its authorised staff reserve the right to moderate the level of music generated in any room of the premises 9. Payment Cheques are accepted at the discretion of the management. All major credit and debit cards are accepted with the exception of American Express. It remains your responsibility to ensure that your invoice is correct upon departure. We reserve the right to raise further invoices at any time in the event of omissions or miscalculations. A surcharge of 10% will be levied should you fail to settle your invoice in full at the time of departure. 10. Problems and Queries Please direct any enquiries to management should you experience any problems during your Event. Please notify management as soon as possible to ensure your requirements are met. Failure to do so means we will be unable to investigate fully or implement remedies. 11. Data Protection During the course of your booking, we will be taking personal information such as your name, personal billing address, email address and credit/ debit card details. The Management will not disclose or otherwise process your details other than: - b) for the purpose of informing you of other offers and facilities offered by the Company from time to time. If you do not wish to receive further correspondence from the management, please inform us when placing your booking. 12. Legal Information The contract for the provision of your event is governed and construed by the Law of The States of Jersey. Each party submits to the exclusive jurisdiction of the States of Jersey to settle any claim or matter arising in connection with the contract in general. |
